About The Marlins
|The Woodlands Marlins is a summer swim team and is a nonprofit organization, governed by an elected board of directors. Conceived to foster competitive swimming, good sportsmanship, and development of teamwork in the youth of The Woodlands; this team is one of the oldest in The Woodlands.
The team’s philosophy is to develop and enhance swimming skills while building mental self-confidence and discipline. Most importantly, the team participation is a great opportunity to nurture the development of healthy bodies, new friendships and “team work” principles.
|Swim teams are unique in their ability to enable youth of all ages to participate, from 4 years old on up to 18 years. This provides an uncommon environment for the child to experience both personal growth and the ability to contribute to a team sport. Membership is not based on the swimming ability of the child, only on the desire and basic water safety knowledge of each individual youngster.|
|The Woodlands Marlins team is a member of the Northwest Aquatic League ("NWAL") and the NWAL rules govern our meets. See www.nwal.org for a copy of the official NWAL rules. The Marlins hold our practices and home swim meets at the CISD Natatorium*. Other than the Coaching, this team is run entirely on volunteer effort, and depends on your involvement.
*Due to construction at the CISD Natatorium, we will practice at The Woodlands Sawmill Pool for part of the 2018 season.
