About The Marlins

About Us

The Woodlands Marlins Swim Team is a proud and long-standing member of the Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL), one of the largest and most respected summer swim leagues in the nation. With nearly 100 teams and over 15,000 swimmers across the Houston metropolitan area, NWAL provides a fantastic framework for competitive swimming, fostering camaraderie, and promoting healthy activity throughout the summer months. Like many successful NWAL teams, our focus extends beyond the pool, aiming to build character, resilience, and lifelong skills in our young athletes.

Our Philosophy: More Than Just Strokes

At the heart of the Woodlands Marlins is a simple yet powerful philosophy: to develop and enhance swimming skills while simultaneously building mental self-confidence and discipline. We believe in nurturing healthy bodies, fostering new friendships, instilling good sportsmanship, and cultivating essential teamwork. Our coaches are dedicated to creating a positive and supportive environment where every swimmer feels empowered to challenge themselves and grow.

A Legacy of Excellence & Personalized Attention

As one of the oldest and most established teams in The Woodlands area, the Marlins pride ourselves on our rich history of developing young swimmers and ensuring an enjoyable summer experience for everyone. Our dedicated coaches provide individual attention and personalized instruction, in their commitment to swimmer development.

Our World-Class Home: The Conroe ISD Natatorium

We are incredibly fortunate to call the state-of-the-art Conroe ISD Natatorium our home. This world-class indoor facility provides an unparalleled environment for both practice and competition. From cutting-edge timing systems to a comfortable, climate-controlled atmosphere, The Nat elevates the entire swim team experience. We welcome all swimmers aged 4 to 18 to join our team, and we offer a convenient practice schedule designed to accommodate our busy families.

Swimming: A Vital Life Skill and Team Experience

We firmly believe that swimming is an important life skill. It provides a unique environment for children to experience both significant personal growth and the invaluable opportunity to contribute to a team sport. What sets us apart is that membership is not based on a child's current swimming ability. Instead, we welcome anyone with the desire to swim and a commitment to keep improving.

Our NWAL Commitment

As a proud member of the Northwest Aquatic League, all our meets and team operations adhere to the official NWAL rules. We encourage you to visit www.nwal.org for a copy of the official NWAL rules and to learn more about the league that makes summer swimming so special in our region.

What our parents are saying

"My kids have made lasting friendships and achieved some personal goals in summing, and ultimately had fun! We have met some lovely people...it's like a big family."

--Mindy, 15yo daughter and 18yo son, Marlins for 9 years

"I love the wonderful friendships that my children have made through the Marlins. My favorite memory is when they won divisionals in 2018, and how excited the kids were. They had fun throwing their coaches in the pool to celebrate!"

--Nicoli, 19yo and 21yo sons, Marlins for 6 years

"The Marlins are much more relaxed than year round swimming, and my daughter has made wonderful friendships here. I loved being an age group parent for the 6 and under girls. They were so much fun!"

--Heather, 12yo daughter, Marlins for 6 years

"I was so happy when my kids started and the coaches were so attentive to helping them get comfortable getting across the pool, then learning all the strokes. Now my kids beg for summer swim because they have so much fun with the coaches and their friends. We look forward to it every summer!"

--Jayme, 9yo daughter and 7yo son, Marlins for 4 years
