About The Marlins

The Woodlands Marlins is a summer swim team and is a nonprofit organization, governed by an elected board of directors. Conceived to foster competitive swimming, good sportsmanship, and development of teamwork in the youth of The Woodlands; this team is one of the oldest in The Woodlands.

The team’s philosophy is to develop and enhance swimming skills while building mental self-confidence and discipline. Most importantly, the team participation is a great opportunity to nurture the development of healthy bodies, new friendships and “team work” principles.

Swim teams are unique in their ability to enable youth of all ages to participate, from 4 years old on up to 18 years. This provides an uncommon environment for the child to experience both personal growth and the ability to contribute to a team sport. Membership is not based on the swimming ability of the child, only on the desire and basic water safety knowledge of each individual youngster.
The Woodlands Marlins team is a member of the Northwest Aquatic League ("NWAL") and the NWAL rules govern our meets. See www.nwal.org for a copy of the official NWAL rules. The Marlins hold our practices and home swim meets at the CISD Natatorium*. Other than the Coaching, this team is run entirely on volunteer effort, and depends on your involvement.

*Due to construction at the CISD Natatorium, we will practice at The Woodlands Sawmill Pool for part of the 2018 season.
